Packaging

I remembered when I reviewed the original Cosmos Case how well it had been packaged to insure safe arrival, so I was really anxious to see how well the Cosmos S was packaged. The front of the shipping carton has a very nice angled picture of the Cosmos S, if you are familiar with the original Cosmos the color of the case was mainly silver, whereas the Cosmos S has some black and red accent stripes to make the case look a lot meaner and leaner.  It is leaner thanks to the all aluminum chassis.  Cooler Master states that the Cosmos S is styled after European high-speed racing cars and I can see that when I look at the case.

The rear of the carton has the name Cosmos S at what appears to be a time-lapse shot of headlights going around a series of curves at a high rate of speed.  Once again this keeps with the high speed theme used throughout the case.

Once again the packaging of the Cosmos S proved to be just as good the original, one new feature Cooler Master has implemented to is to cover the entire case with a brown nylon bag the will insure the the case arrives with no blemishes.  Once you remove the brown nylon case you also will need to remove the plastic bag that covers the entire bag.  When you are finished with you can remove the adhesive plastic that covers the major contact surfaces.

Once around the Outside of the Case

Looking at the Cosmos S from the side you can really begin to pick out the influence high speed racing cars have had with this cases design.  Such things as the curved corners and precision fit of all of the parts.  The Cosmos S has the "Grab-n-Snatch' bars on the top of the enclosure, while the one's on the bottom of the case serve the purpose of being legs for the Cosmos S.

Looking at the side of the Cosmos S you can see the mesh which covers the 230x230x30mm fan. The fan rotates at  900 rpm, and puts out 150 CFM of air which will come in handy for supplying additional air to processor heatsink and to the video card(s).

Looking at the left side-panel you can see that there is no ventilation on this side of the case and the only thing of interest is the Cooler Master logo located in the upper right-hand corner of the panel.

With the side-panel removed you can see the areas in white that will be used for cable management, by using good cable placement you can provide far better air-flow throughout the case.  Speaking of air circulation, the original Cosmos as well as the Cosmos s both have superior air flow qualities due to the fact that each of the cases have been designed to prove that best airflow possible, while creating the very least amount of noise.
