We have had the pleasure of reviewing a large number of CoolerMasters power supplies and we always look forward to a new release not so much that the ones we are currently using have gone south, but rather to see the new improvements that have gone into the new models.
The unit we are going to review today is from the UCP (Ultimate Circuit Protection) series of power supplies, the name it goes by is the CoolerMaster UCP RS900W and does it ever have a list of great features. To start off with every circuit in this power supply has been designed to specialize in efficiency. Next the unit features what is called "Soft-Start Circuitry", this prevents the power supply from suffering damage from the sudden surge of electricity when the power supply when it first turned on. The continuous active clamp forward switching technology and the D/D VRMs circuit design achieves over 88% efficiency which makes this of the best PSUs in the 80 Plus Silver category. The unique appearance of the UCP is made of a special coating that screams high quality and ruggedness and this is the type of things for high end PCs, especially for Quad SLI setup. Cooler Master also provides an extra-long 5-year warranty with the customer in mind!
