When it comes to installation, you start by placing the backer plate on your motherboard and the place a bolt through the backer plate and throught the motherboard, then placing a washer between the motherboard and the brass nut that holds the bolt in place. After the four bolts have been secured it is time to add the heatsink.
Once the heatsink is in place (be sure to place thermal paste n your processor before you place the heatsink onto the bolts. Next take the four spring loaded kurled nuts and tighten them down in an 'X' pattern to insure they are properly tensioned.
