Introduction:

Finally after a year of hype and two months of promises PCI-E video cards have finally broke into the mainstream computer scene, perhaps not with as big of a splash as some video card manufactures would like to see them make. With everyone using the same old line "my AGP card is just as fast as a PCI-E card so why should I upgrade?", it only seemed to make matter worse for the industry.

But as we video card makers are not ones to be told a product will not works so they went back to the drawing board and came up with the conclusion and the right one I might add, that to displace the AGP the PCI-E cards needed just a couple of things. Faster clock speeds and faster memory, the HIS Radeon X800XL we are reviewing today is a prime example of what happens when the best parts are put into a single package, topped off with what maybe the best possible cooling solution on the market today for a video card and end up with true nVidia Elininator!
