Introduction
Ok I admit that I'm a slow learner and sometimes even slower converting over
to newer technology. I'm from the school that if it works then you might not
need to upgrade. So for longer than I care to remember I have remained
tethered to my computer with both my mouse and keyboard, or I was until
Christmas Day last year. Santa dropped off a nice shiny wireless keyboard
and mouse and within minutes I felt like I had the bonds of slavery removed
from my wrists. Well okay maybe it wasn't quite that dramatic but you get
the idea.
All the advertisements you see or read for the Internet mention things like
"being free to explore" or "where do you want to go today?" "Traveling at
the speed of your mind" well I hate to tell you but it's pretty hard to go
anywhere, travel anywhere, or be free if you have a pair of 4 foot cable
running to the back of your computer that won't allow you to move more than
2 feet from your desk.
So when the invention of the wireless mouse and keyboard came along you just
had to know people were going to love it. It offered you the chance to sit
across the room and do mindless things at their computer that they had been
forced to do from 1 feet away before.
