Included Cables
The whole premises of the Cool-Panel is based on connectivity so it only
makes sense that Aerocool provide you with the necessary cables to connect
the Cool-Panel with your motherboard. The first cables are a pair of
SATA cable which will come in very handy for testing SATA drives without
having to install the drives into the case.
The next cable is the one that will more than likely get the biggest
workout since it is the inter-connecting cable for the card reader.
Since I shoot on average 50 to 60 photographs a day it will be nice to have
a means to read the memory cards for both of my cameras in one location.
Having one camera with a SD memory stick and the other with a Smart Media
Card meant that I needed two different card readers available to handle each
camera.
The next cable will only get slight use in my case since
I very seldom listen to music using headphones, or use a microphone with
the computer that I will be installing the Cool-Panel in.
The fourth cable allows you to connect any 1394 device
(Firewire) to the the front of your computer using the Cool-Panel. This
is something that will come in very handy for testing external drives
that use a Firewire interface.
For those that do any video editing, having the video
input plug easily accessible on on the front of the computer once again
should make the Cool-Panel as very wish choice.
The last cable is a double lead USB 2.0 cable which when
these two cables are attached they give you two high-speed 2.0 USB connectors
on the front of your computer instead of the usual 1.1 connections you
have from using the USB headers on your motherboard. Having a pair
of high-speed USB 2.0 connectors available up front to connect any USB
device to will be a true time saver and will do away with that silly
message of 'having high-speed device connected to a low speed
connection.'
While we're discussing cables the Cool-Panel comes with a pair of heat
probes which allow you monitor the temperatures of two locations. You
will also find a pair of pass-through fan connectors whereby you can monitor
and adjust the speed of two fans of your choice in your computer.
