Introduction

The need for for a high power very well regulated power supply has never been more important than it is with the current trend of amp eating video cards and current sucking processors. The days of generic 300 watt power supplies has come and gone as we now are at a point where we need a power supply that can handle the demand of not only high speed processors and fast video cards but the numerous accessories we populate our cases with.  It is not uncommon to find a case operating with anywhere from four to six 80mm fans in it, nor is unusual to find a case with a pair of CD/RW drives it as well.  So as we look at the MGE XG Vigor 500 Watt PSU we will try and decide if it can handle the chores that the current systems are asking other supplies to do.
