INTRODUCTION

Thanks to wireless networking the laptop computer has finally found a comfortable place in a large number of homes with the ability to work on a report while sitting at your kitchen table has made the though of working at home a bit more palatable.   Where it used to be the oddity when you went to the local beanery and saw someone having a cup of coffee while they worked on their computer it has now become the norm.  And these people are not just using their computers, some of them are actually working thanks again to the use of a wireless networks.

The main ingredient for any wireless network is a means to transmit and receive information from the 802.11b or g device on the laptop computer you're using on the opposite end.  In the case of the item we are reviewing today it happens to be the X-Micro WLAN 802.11g Wireless Router, this little device is capable of transmitting at speeds of 802.11b: Up to 11 Mbps 802.11g: 54Mbps; up to 108Mbps when Super G enabled.  So let's take a closer look and see what we have inside.
