TESTING

To see how well the Aerocool Turbine Power 550 watt Power Supply would work under a severe load condition we used three of our favorite programs to stress test any computer with. The first program is Super Pi, a very common program used by the overclocking community to help determine whether or not the memory they are testing is stable.  Memory that is the least bit marginal will always fail this test.  The second program is BurnInTest V4.0 from Passmark Software, this is another piece of software that will bring a computer to its knees if the setting are turned up to the max.  The last program we use is Winstress from Ultra-X, a pure stress testing program which allows you to configure each area of the computer being tested to specify how much utilization the system uses - for our tests all setting were set to 100% utilization.

We have found the best way to record the voltage highs and lows is to use these exact features found in Motherboard Monitor.  The way we ran our test was to first start Super Pi and set it to determine Pi to 64 millions digits, next we started BurnInTest V4.0 followed by Winstress and both of the last two programs were configured to run for 60 minutes.

So after one hour of testing here are the number we came up with.

Voltage Points Vcore LDT +3.3 +5.00 +12.00 Chipset DRAM
High 1.47 1.18 3.36 5.13 12.34 1.49 2.62
Low 1.46 1.17 3.34 5.10 12.14 1.49 2.62
Delta 0.01 0.01 0.02 0.03 0.20 0.00 2.62

Looking at the test results you can clearly see that the Turbine Power has no problem keep within the 5% tolerance expected of a good power supply, as a matter of fact it is closer to 2% than 5%.  I think you will have to agree that it performs quite admirably and would be an ideal choice for anyone looking for a new power supply for their system.

CONCLUSION

From its stunning UV cables right up to the exceptional voltages is able to produce the Aerocool Turbine Power 550 watt Power Supply proves that it is not some run of the mill cheap off the shelf power supply.  The fact that each cable is protected from EMI emission by insertion of a ferrite core tells me that the engineers at Aerocool wanted to produce the cleanest power supply available on the market today.

The perfect fit of the connectors means you won't have to worry about voltages changing over time the possibility of them coming loose from their connection point. And finally the 120mm Twin-Turbine fan is nearly silent when used and by placing my hand behind the rear opening I could feel how much warm air it removed and it is considerable.

Simply put if you want a powerful power supply that has everything you need for the most modern of motherboards and has the ability to make your case look so much better thanks to the ability to only use the cables you need then do the smart think and buy the Aerocool Turbine Power 550 watt Power Supply

Aerocool has now shown that they are not just a company that makes computer accessories anymore with the release of the Aerocool Turbine Power 550 watt Power Supply they have become a major player in the power supply market place and if this is model is any indication of their future plans a few companies better keep their eyes open!

We want to thank AeroCool.US who provided us with this sample and also a big thank you to Alex who without his help the review would not have been possible.
