Mounting the Freezer 64 Pro is
snap with the flip-latch mechanism that Arctic
Cooler has come up with for this heatsink, after you
have the processor cleaned off it should take you
about 45 second to mount the unit onto your
processor and be ready for business.
Looking at the base of the Freezer 64 Pro your can
see where the three heatpipe meet at the base,
Arctic Cool also applies a nice coating of their
ARCTIC MX-1 thermal compound. If you would
like to get a heads up on how to install this
product you can take a look at this PDF file
that shows exactly how to install it.
Knowing that the Freezer 64 Pro
is not intended for use as a heatsink on full-blown
overclocked system we decided to try testing it
first at stock speed and then with a mild overclock
to see just how well it could handle the extra heat
that the processor would generate.
the two programs we used to test
the system with were Hot CPU Tester
from 7-Byte Software, the second program we used is
S&M TestMem 4.
Conclusion
What's not to like about the
Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro, here is a unit that
is simple to install, is nearly dead silent during
operation, performs remarkably well even when
overclocked to some extent. Perhaps best of
all is the price tag of less than $40.00, all of
these add up to give to a superior heatsink that
will provide you will years of service backed by a
full 6-year warranty.
So if you own a AMD64 socket 939
and need a new heatsink or are thinking of picking a
new motherboard up and are trying to figure out
which heatsink to purchase then stop right here and
give this one a long look aand I think you will find
as we did that it performs quite well.
A special thank to Arctic
