Compared to the number of companies that were producing water
cooling kits say one year ago it would be safe to say we have had a
huge growth spurt, for example
Corsair a company that is usually known for it's
excellent memory has now got a water cooling kit, companies
like
Titan,
Cooler Master and Evercool are now offering more
than one model to chose from. Of course there are the old stand-bys
like
Swiftech and
Asetek, so what sets these
different kits apart from one another besides price?
In my opinion the first thing you should be concerned about is how
well the parts in any water cooling kit are made. Does it look
like it will last over time and not be likely to leak. Some
people may say the most important part is how well the kit will cool
your processor, but having a cool processor is not to important if
it dumps a reservoir of water all over your running motherboard and
video card now is it?
So how do you know if water cooling kit is worth carrying out the
door or not? Get on your computer and do a simply search and
look for reviews of the water cooling kit your interested in and see
what the reviewer has to say. Don't settle for one opinion
read as many as possible and then judge for yourself if you think if
is worthy of your money. This is also a very good way to tell
if it will cool your processor, if you happen to be running a
Pentium 4 2.8 GHz and all of the reviewers tested the system using a
3.2 GHz processor you can be pretty sure your system will be well
cooled unless your case has no ventilation.
Today we have the pleasure of reviewing what I would say is the
newest addition to the water cooling family and that is the Gigabyte
3D Galaxy Water Cooling Kit,
if you happen to be keeping score it is their model GH-W1U01. So
come on along as we check it out and see what is new and different
about this particular system (and I assure you there are some new
things) and then we will see how well it works on the bench.
