The
KamabokoZ is a multi-platform heatsink fitting AMD64, Intel LGA 775
and Intel 478. If you are installing the KamabokoZ on an Intel
478 motherboard the only thing you will need to do is apply some
thermal paste and fasten the clips and you will be off and running.
For the the AMD64 and the LGA 775 you will need to pull your
motherboard and add some parts that Scythe provided to make the
KamabokoZ fit on your motherboard.
Here you can the mounting hardware that is
supplied with the KamabokoZ, from top to bottom the AMD64
bracket, LGA 775, Wrench and backer plate.

Installing the KamabokoZ on a LGA 775
motherboard is relatively simple once you have the motherboard
out of the case. Then it is just a simple matter of taking
screw an inserting it in on of the holes where the push-pin
hold-downs go on a normal heat sink. Then place a plastic
washer on the screw on the other side so that it is against the
motherboard and then attach the screw to the hold-down brackets.
Do this four times and your are all set to install the
KamabokoZ, due to the extremely smooth finish on the base of the heatsnk a minimal amount of thermal paste should be used.
Being able to adjust the speed of the fan is
important with the KamabokoZ's fan running at 3600 RPM it does
generate a bit of noise at its highest setting, but this setting
will more than likely only be used when you are overclocking or
the hottest days of the year.
Otherwise a point somewhere between medium
and high will be used an the noise level will be far easer to
live with.
