Topic: Computer Cases
Product: Nikao Dragonfire Case
Provided By: Nikao
Reviewer: K Elliott

You can really see the Chinese flare to this product by looking at the shipping carton which shows a picture of the case along with what looks to be a ink drawing of a dragon.   Since Nikao's main office is located in Shenzhen, China it would only make sense  that their product would reflect a bit of their culture.

Removing the Dragonfire case we get our first look at the front of the case, the overall finish on the case is a midnight black paint finish that has a highly reflective gloss to it.  Located on the four corners of the case there are four flame accent pieces covers the corners of the top, side, front of the case.  We also get our first look at the chrome sword accent pieces that are used on the front as well as the side panel window.  The snazzy grill cover finishes the front of the Dragonfire case and I must say it is rather sexy looking looking.

Two chrome flames accent the large size window panel used on the Dragonfire, yet they still allow enough room for the interior components to be seen and they will look pretty sharp when they are back lit by a cold cathode light.  The panels on the Dragonfire are held in place with thumb screws and once removed the panels simply slide rearward to be taken off.  Nikao's has also take steps to make sure that their case does not emit any noise pollution or it the recipient of any either, by placing a nearly invisible EMI screen over the window opening.

With the door opened we can see that the case has room for four 5.25" drives as well as two - 3.5" drives. You can also see the 120mm fan located at the lower portion of the bezel, this is a blue LED fan which when lit offers a very nice blue color and is not overly bright so as to be bothersome to use with it on.

The circular accent ring that surrounds the 120mm fan opening reminds me of a Ninja throwing star, but whatever it is it adds a nice touch to the already impressive looking front of the Dragonfire Case.

The accessory hookups are located on the right side of the case near the bottom, here you will find a pair of USB ports and jacks for a headphone and microphone.

One interesting thing about the door used on the Dragonfire case is the fact that the second 5.25" drive bay has a hole cut through the door which will allow you operate a CD/DVD without opening the door or perhaps card reader of some sort or even a digital display of some type.  Either way it is nice to have and let your imagination run wild with what you will do with the opening.
