Well packaged the PowerColor X800
GTO is shipped in a rather plain looking box but
since I am not much of a box lover I won't deduct any
point for that since I consider fancy boxes a frivolous
waste of time on my part but I am fully aware that they
are an important part of the advertising plan for any
video card.
Included with the X800 GTO we found a
plethora of accessories which will make hooking the
PowerColor X800 GTO up to your monitor(s), HDTV or
Television very easy. Included are S-Video Cable,
a pair of DVI Dongles, HDTV Cable, Composite Cable,
S-Video to AV Cable and finally a Power Extension Cord.
As I said it comes with a load of cables and hook-up
features.
The front of the X800 GTO is covered primarily by
the gray colored heatsink and exhaust fan. The
heatsink/fan assembly is held securely in place by two
studs that pass through the card and held in place by
screws and springs. This will provide adequate
flexibility to avail the heatsink to move without fear
of crushing the core of the GPU.
The chips used on the PowerColor X800 GTO are
Samsung K4J55323QF-GC20 Graphics DDR3. The 8Mx32
GDDR3 is 268,435,456 bits of hyper synchronous data rate
Dynamic RAM organized as 4 x 2,097,152 words by 32 bits,
fabricated with SAMSUNG's high performance CMOS
technology. Synchronous features with Data Strobe allow
extremely high performance up to 6.4GB/s/chip. I/O
transactions are possible on both edges of the clock
cycle. Range of operating frequencies, and programmable
latencies allow the device to be useful for a variety of
high performance memory system applications. According
to Samsung's specifications, the BGA ram is rated at
500MHz (1GHz DDR).
