The shipping carton that Aspire uses to ship the
X-QPack in is very well made and does and ideal
job of protecting the case during shipment.
The overall size of the carton might
surprise you since it does measure 17" x 13.5" x
11" . The case also has a built in
carrying handle to make the trip to the car a
bit easier.
Now that I have bashed Aspire
somewhat for their package design let me
complement them on the fantastic job they did
packaging the X-QPack for maximum protection
during shipping. Extra rigid foam end caps
cover the case which has been covered with a
Mylar type bag to prevent friction marks from
happening due to the case rubbing against the
foam.
My initial impression of the
X-QPack was that it was a bit larger than I had
thought it would be, but not large in a bad way
either. The front bezel of the X-QPack may
be of plastic but it still looks very nice and
blends in nicely with the remainder of the case
and ties in perfectly with the huge windows
located on the side and top of the case.
The only control that got
placed on silver portion of bezel is the on/off
switch while the remainder of the controls and
connectors are located in the center (Black
portion) of the bezel). There you will find a
pair USB 2.0 connectors, a single FireWire
connector along with a headphone and microphone
connections. There is room for plenty of
drives with available space for two 5.25" and
one 3.5"drive. The final items located
here are the LED's for the power indicator and
HDD indicator and the reset switch.
Next to the 3.5" drive is the temperature
display, this is a unit that can be switched
between Fahrenheit and Celsius depending on your
preference.

To make the Q-XPack easy to take with you
Aspire has added a single handle that runs the
width of he case and folds flush into the bezel
when not in use. The bezel is truly the
showpiece of the case and it does a great job of
showing everything off.
