The color scheme that OCZ uses on their packaging for their power supplies is something to behold, as is the case with the GameXStream power supply carton we are looking at today. The color scheme is a cross between futuristic and exceptionally high voltage.
The front portion of the case has a nice angled view of the GameXStream power supply and on the right-hand side you can see a small placard that states that this power supply is covered by a 36-month warranty.
Also located on front of the shipping carton are five of the key feature of this powerful power supply. So lets list them out and see what we have.
Silent Operation:
Power Whisper™ reduces noise to insure near silent operation
Active PFC:
regulates input voltage to provide superior performance.
Superior Cooling:
thanks to a high-performance yet quite 120mm fan.
EMI Isolated Casing:
Sleek black chassis virtually eliminates EMI
Packed in Power:
High power - High Output packed in small footprint
The rear of the carton once again covers the same talking points that were listed on the front of the carton and give a bit more information about each feature.
Located on the side-panel of the carton is voltage/amperage rating of the power supply. Looking at it you can see that it has a total of 4-individual 12-volt rails that are rated at 20 amps.
Our first look inside of the GameXStream Power supply shows us that the main power supply has been packaged in bubble-wrap to protect it from dents. The only other items included with the power supply are a power cord and a very well put together manual.
20+4 Motherboard Connector!
8-Pin Motherboard Connector!
It doesn’t matter whether your motherboard has 20 or 24-pins. The 20+4 will hook you up. For your 20-pin platform, simply separate four pins and plug it in.
If your motherboard requires a 4-pin connector, the 8-pin motherboard connector will split off into two (2) separate 4-pin connectors.
