The surface of the Xfire while not a mirror finish was of such a quality that only a minimal amount of thermal paste will be needed to installed it onto our motherboard.  There were no visible machine marks nor were there any scratches on the surface that might be considered less than perfect for installation.

When it comes time to install the Xfire it is just a simply matter of slipping the mounting bracket over the center block and then either attaching it with screws if you're installing it on and AMD motherboard or pressing the push-pin on the mounting bracket if you happen to be using an LGA 775 motherboard like we are.

Processor: Intel Pentium 4 - 3.2 GHz
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-8I915P Duo-A
Memory: Mushkin PC2-5300 (DDR2)
Heatsink: AeroCool Xfire
Power Supply: AeroCool ZeroDBA
Case: AeroCool Masstige ATX/BX Computer Case
Video Card: HIS X1600 XT
Software: Windows XP Pro SP2

To test the Xfire we ran a pair of benchmarks, one of them was ran at the stock speed of the processor (3.2 GHz) and the second one was ran with a 400 MHz overclock.  To achieve the maximum load on the processor and to generate the most heat possible we ran one instance of SETI @ home and one instance of Sisoft Sandra Burnin Wizard.  All temperature were recorded with an AeroCool CoolPanel II at the end of 30 minute and recorded for our chart.
