It used to be we all happy as clams with our CD burners and the
ability to place upwards of 800 MB of files on a single disc which
was a huge
step up from the 1.44 MB floppy discs we had used in the past.
As software applications grew in size so did the need for a large
storage media, and so was born the DVD. If you remember
before the DVD burners came along certain companies wanted us to use
tape drives to store our data and to use them for not only system
back-ups but for common storage as well. I can tell you from
my own experience that tape drives were never meant for home use.
That brings us today, where the most common means of storing large
quantities of data is the DVD. Our friends over a
Geeks.com were kind enough to
send over an I/O Magic external DVD Burner for us to review so that
is what we will be looking at today. So hang on to you hats
and let's see just how fast this baby actually is. If you're
not familiar with
Geeks.comyou really should take some time and visit there web and
take a look around.
