So what makes DVD burners everyone favorite accessory these days?  Could it be the fact the a single writable DVD disc can hold 4.7 billion bytes of information?  This translates into about 4483 megabytes or 4.38 gigabytes which is far more than the 700 megabytes we are used to seeing on a writable CD.

Looking at the drive using Nero Infotool we can see the the drive is capable of reading DVD  at 8.0X and writing them at 2.0x.  It is also capable of reading and writing all common DVD formats including DVD-ROM.

Using Nero Burning Rom we can see that the drive's maximum speed is 40X for CDs, it uses firmware revision 0055, it does support Overburn which is nice since it allows you but more information on to a CD than is normally possible.  It also has a 2 MB buffer and it use the Super Link method of insuring there are no buffer under runs.
