Media Center Controls
The next set of controls we are going to look at those that
run across the top of the keyboard, these can best be described as the Media
Center Controls since for this point you can do just about everything you need
to enjoy your music, movies or other entertainment on your PC.
The first button on the left with the music notes on it
brings up the "
Media Player"
and what good would a Media Player be without having a playlist or two to work
with, so the next two buttons are just that. (Playlist 1 and
Playlist 2)
If you don't want to be a conformist and want to
break away from a set playlist the next button allows you to "Shuffle"
your media and have it play randomly.
The next three buttons control the volume of the Media
Center, with "Volume up", "Volume down" and "Mute".
These controls are laid out
in a very intuitive format so in a matter of couple of days you will no longer
need a cheat sheet to remember where everything is located you will be able to
remember the group that it is in and you're half-way there. The one thing
I would like Logitech to implement is some means of back-lighting the buttons so
they are easier to identify at night. If that was taken care of the the keyboard
would be almost perfect.

The next three buttons are referred
to as the Media
Transport Buttons, which is
just a fancy way of saying here is the Play/Pause,
Fast-Forwards and
Rewind buttons.
The very last red button if you haven't
already guessed is the "Record"
button.
LCD Clock Controls

The next set of keys work in conjunction with the LCD clock
located at the top of the keyboard, The clock does more than simply tell you
what time it is. By pressing the "FN" Function Key and the F9 key you can
toggle between the different modes that the clock supports. Those are telling
time in either 12:00 or 24:00 hr settings, Alarm Clock, Timer and Character
Counter. So you can see if not just a simple little clock now is it.
The other three keys are used to start the timer, adjust the
alarm and set the clock.
