Since we are installing the water block on a Socket 939 the installation could not have been simpler, the first step requires you to remove the original heatsink retention device and then using the two holes that held it in place originally place a nipple in each of these holes after placing a washer over the nipple to insure that nothing shorts out.  Then flip the motherboard over and align the backer plate up with two nipples and screw the nipples into the two threaded openings on the backer plate and you are finished except of placing a coat of ZM STG1 Super Thermal Grease (review link).

One of the benefits of the Zalman Super Thermal Grease other than it works exceptionally well is the fact that it comes with a built in brush allowing you to apply it with perfect control in even strokes to insure that you get the perfect bond between the processor and water block or heatsink you are using it on.

Here you can see the water block in place, the retention clip come in two piece and the legs of the clip has several small holes drilled through it that allow to place a small screw through them and then tighten the clip directly to the top of the water block, keeping it centered and perfectly aligned.  Then it is a simple matter of placing a screw on each of the outer legs of the bracket to finish attaching it to the nipples.

Installation of the VGA water block is not that much different that the CPU water block when you stop and think about it.  The first step of course was for use to remove the heatsink off the X1300 video card we will be using.  Having read the instruction sheet it told me that for this model the water block attaches to the video card from contact points.   These contact points are the exact spots where you remove the screws to remove the factory heatsink.

The first step is to take the four provided nipples and place runner washers over the end of them to help insulate them as well as to protect the video card itself.  The place them through the four holes that were used to originally hold the factory heatsink in place.  Then simply place a spring and end cap on the end of the nipples and begin to slowly tighten the end cap until they have been rotated about two turns each.

Now flip the video card over and after applying more Zalman Super Thermal Grease we can place the VGA water block on to GPU core. Carefully attached the water block to the four nipples with the provided screws and that will finish the attach on this side. Now flip the card over and carefully tighten the end-caps down using a staggering pattern so as not to crack the core of the GPU.

Here you can see video card and water block assembled prior to wet testing .  Here have added the provided jumper wire to the power supply as we begin our 14hr pre-completion check to make sure that everything is water tight and that none of the connectors are going to leak on something expensive.
