The box that the Antec P182 arrived in is the typical Antec black and silver
color scheme that we have seen on the other cases we have reviewed. This
color of the shipping carton is not only easy to look at but is also easy to
read the information that the carton provides. The front of the carton
shows the main features of the case, these are the items that will make you glad
you decided to purchase this particular case.
The rear of the carton gives a very detailed explanation of
the P182's specifications. It is also written in other languages just
in case you don't happen to speak English. I also has a nice picture
of the P182 with the left side-panel removed so that you can have a better
look at the way the case is broken up in to different zones or compartments.
As you can see the Antec P182 arrived with a near perfect
packing job, not only was the case held securely between two pieces of
Styrofoam, but each side-panel was protected with a sheet a static-cling plastic
so as not to show wear marks that might originate from where the case rubbed
against the Styrofoam.
Here is our first look at the Antec P182 and when I saw it I
was immediately impressed with the design and the layout of the case. The
overall weight of the case would be classified as slightly more than the average
case due to the fact the the doors on the P-182 are constructed from three
different material which help reduce the noise generated inside the system.
A couple of features as simple as they may seem totally add up
to make a complete case. Things like the fact that the "Start" and "Reset"
buttons do not move when the door is opened nor do any of the accessory plugs or
connectors. The other thing is the grill that runs the length of the
bezel, this small feature should allow air to flow into the front of the case.
