A look at the outside

The Antec P-190 is constructed mainly of steel accept of the door and front bezel of the case which are made of plastic.  The finish on the case as you can see from the photographs is a very nice black color which I noted had no visible runs or under/Over-spray on it.  The Antec P-180 is a full-size case that weights in at about 40 lbs so it is not a case you will be moving very often unless you live in a weight gym.  The majority of the weight for the case is made up of the steel construction and the two power supplies, yes you read that correctly, the case comes with two different size power (Neo Power 650 and Neo Power 550) supplies that operate together to produce a staggering amount of power for your system and both supplies are controlled off a single control line.

One thing that this case has that very few others have is a double hinge door designed to open up to 270º, thus allowing it to fold back on to the side of the case. The P-190 has a two removable side-panels that are held in place by a pair of thumb-screws, then it is just a simple matter of sliding the side-panels rearward to remove them.  The door on the case is held closed by a pair of small magnets, one located at the top and another located at the bottom of the door.  The door can also be locked to keep people from tampering with your removable drives.  Locking the door also prevents anyone from turning your computer on since the power switch is not exposed.

With the door open you can see that there are a total of four 5.25" drive bays and a single 3.5" drive bay.  There are also two pair of grills through which the fresh outside air can enter the case.  If you look at the bottom of the bezel you can see the door assembly has a cutout area along the bottom of the door.  This allows air to enter into it to the case even when the door is shut.

One very handy feature of the P-190 is the use of hidden filter to help keep the inside of your case clean.  The two grills that we mentioned earlier open easily by simply pushing in on then and the spring latch then releases allowing the door to release exposing the opening to us.  Here you will find a pair of easy to remove filters, the filters are washable and then can be replaced until they get filled up with cat, dog or human hair once again.  During our testing we found the filters did a great job over a 30-day period keeping the inside of the case as clean as it was the day we built the system.
