A look at the Inside

Some will look inside the Antec P-190 and ask "where is the removable motherboard tray." and I would be the first to answer that when you have a case as large as this one you don't need one.  I think the proper term is spacious, and that indeed is what this case is.  It will hold your micro-ATX motherboard all the way up Extended-ATX motherboards which measure a massive 12" x 13", so that should give you a clear picture of just how much room you have to work with inside the P-190 enclosure.

It this picture we have removed the two power supplies which reside in lower compartment of the case in the lower left-corner.  The idea behind keeping the power supplies in their very own compartment is to keep various part of the system isolated and by doing so keeping the heat only in the areas that heat is generated.

To give you an idea of watch the case looks like with most of the drive cages removed you can see just how easy it is to work the P-190.  The drive cage on the lower level on the right side will hold four 3.5" drives, the drives are mounted vertically on their sides.  The drive cage directly above it holds two 3.5" drives mounted in small slide-in brackets.  Each of the drive cages use silicon washers to help reduce sound generated from the vibration of the rotation of the hard drives.  Above that are the drive bays for the 5.25" optical drives (4) that you will be installing in your system.

With the other side-panel removed you can better see the four holes locates on the motherboard tray (three along the top and one on the left-side) where you can route your power cables or your data cable to insure the best possible air-flow through-out the enclosure.  Also worth mentioning are the three cable tie-downs that you can see in the photograph, included with the case a more of these types of hold-downs should you need them to hold down additional cables.

Looking at the front of the case you can see where I have one of the drive cages partially pulled out of it's slide-in position.  Looking at it from this angle you can see small black storage box that comes in handy for the placement of screws and other small items.

With the side-panel removed and reversed you get a clear view of the "200mm Big Boy Fan" I have also taken the included slide in filter and slide it partial out so that you could see what it looks like. The fan also has a 3-position speed controller attached to a short wire that allows it to hang inside the case.  This filter is just like the filters we showed you on the front of the case that can be cleaned with a bit of soap and water, a then simply slide it back into place until it latches.

You will also notice that the side-panel has a black-colored material that covers the entire metal area of the side-panel.  The black material is actually a sound deadening material that is held in place by right-angle cut pieces of this material on each corner.
