The Power Supplies

Looking at the second power supply the Neo Link 650P 650 watt power supply has three 12-volt rails that also have 18-volts per rail.  Along with 24-amps on the +5 and +3.3V rails.  These two power supplies should provide you with more than enough power for any install you chose for the P-190 enclosure.

Testing

Operating System:
Windows XP Version 2002 SP2
Processor:

Intel Core Duo E6400 (2133MHz, 266x4MHz , SL9S9  Conroe B2)

Video Card:
HIS X1950XT Platinum
Memory:
1 GB Mushkin PC-6400
Heatsink:
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro

With our components installed it was time to see just how quiet the system was and how well the the fans cooled.  We ran the test in three stages, all of the fans that are included with the P-190 have a micro-slide switch on them with a High-Medium-Low position on them, so our test would be ran with the fans set at each of these settings. We will also be listening to see how loud the case becomes when the fans are all set to high and we add the optional fan.  Now I could rush off to Radio Shack and get a Decibel Meter but I consider a real world test of someone saying it is loud just as good.

Conclusion

After using the Antec P-190 for the better part of 3-weeks now I can say that I have only one complaint with regard to the enclosure.  The complaint is a small one and that is the weight of the case, the weight is kind of expected with a pair of high-quality power supplies, plus the sound dampening material used on each of the side-panels.

Now if I have to list all the things I like about the P-190 I could read off a market list of fine features found in this enclosure.  Such things dual-power supplies using one control line, cooling capabilities that can be tailored to your liking whether it be for near silent operation or high-speed fans for overclocking capabilities.   Then there are the dampened hard drive cages making sure your drives are not heard.

The big question that needs to be answered is whether the case is worth $400.00 or not.  In our opinion when you buy an enclosure of this quality you are buying something that you plan to use for a very long while and this case can do just that without looking out of place.  Nor do I see any parts on the P-190 that are going to get old and wear out over time other than perhaps a fan might need to be replaced.  So yes we feel you are getting what you pay for.

If you want a case that will last a life-time and give countless hours of excellent performance, outstanding cooling and ease of assembly then look no further than the Antec P-190 enclosure.  Once you have this enclosure you days of looking for computer enclosures is over.
