Packaging

The Apevia X-QPack 2 case arrives in a relatively small carton that measures 14.7" x 11.2" x 9" it does have a very nice carrying handle making it easy to get home from the store where you picked it up at.  The front of the carton displays the same picture that is used on the rear of the carton which is a double shot of the X-QPACK 2 from two different perspectives.  In top portion of the picture is a man laughing while wearing a set of headphones, this I assume is to represent how much fun he is having with this new computer system thinking about how much money he saved by building it himself.

The end panel of the carton does a very nice job of displaying the wide selection of colors that this case can be purchased in.  The pictures shows a total of eight colors but they are forgetting one and that happens to be the one we are reviewing, the Camouflage version.  The thing to realize is that the front bezel is the only thing that these different colors apply to, the remainder of the case is jet black..

A Look at the Outside

"Head for cover men, we're under attack!  If you happen to be a gamer or someone that loves to frag the pants off your buddies and you need a small computer to take with you to a LAN party that might just turn a head or two, the camo version of the X-QPack 2 might be perfect for you.

The black and camo art work are tastefully done to give the case a very nice yet unique appearance, but the thing that will make this case so popular with LAN party crowd is the fact that it is so light and easy to carry from point A to Point B thanks to the built-in spring-loaded carrying handle.  The spring-loading on the handle make the handle retract when not needed thus taking up far less room.

You can see by looking at the front of the X-QPack that it has room for a total of two optical drives and a single 3.5" device whether it be a floppy dive or a card reader.  Also gracing the front of the case is dual display LED thermometer that will read the temperature in either F or C using the two probes that you must mount to your liking.

There is a swoops cut out on each side of the front bezell of the case, these areas are covered with a grill to keep things from crawling into the warm environment of the case, this area is used to draw air into the front of the case.

The 80mm fan that is mounted in the front of the case should help pull cool fresh air into the enclosure.

Looking at the side you can see one of the three windows on the X-QPack's removable cover.
