I could bore you to death with a picture of a plain brown cardboard box like
the one the RC-690 arrived in. When it was opened and the case was
removed it was surrounded by one piece of Styrofoam on each end and the case
itself was enclosed in a styrene type of plastic protective bag put
there to protect the case from rubbing on the Styrofoam.
A Look at the Outside
The RC-690 is constructed of steel and ABS type plastic used on the front
bezel and the removable top of the case. Looking at the front of
the case you will notice immediately that there are no buttons to push on
the center of the bezel, these have been moved to the right-side of the of
the enclosure. Also there is no 3.5" drive bay visible, but don't fret since
one of the removable drive bay covers has an opening in it that will allow
you place a floppy drive into a 5.1/4" drive bay.
Looking head-on at the RC-690 you can see that case has room for a total of
five 5-1/4" drives and the area directly below it is set aside for the front
120mm fan that will drawn fresh air into the case.
Cooler Master has chosen a rather unique place to place
the "Power" and "Reset" buttons along with the "Power LED" and "HDD LED", as
they are placed on the right upright of the front bezel which I really like
since it gives the front of the case a completely clean appearance.
