Looking at the left side-panel of the Cooler Master RC-690 you can see that
it comes equipped with 120mm fan and has room for one more fan up to the
size of 140mm. These fans are ideal for blowing outside air across your
video cards and directly into the heatsink on your processor, but the
cooling process does not stop here since the RC-690 has room for as many as
seven (7) fans total.
Looking at the rear of the RC-690 you can see that case has another 120mm
fan to remove heat from inside your case and there are also some holes
strategically placed directly above the video card area so that air can flow
across the cards and possibly escape through these small holes.
Something new for Cooler Master is the fact that they are making most of
their new cases water cooling friendly as you can tell by two hole that have
been punched in the rear of the case and the opening covered with a rubber
protective gourmet.
I have mixed feeling about the placement of the accessory
panel, where some cases place them on the side of the case the RC-690 has
opted to place this directly square in the middle of the top of the case.
Since the top of the case is flat I suppose if you are plugging in some type
of USB powered device you can always place it on top of the case.
Here is an up-close picture of all of the connections on the accessory panel of the RC-690, they include a FireWire, Microphone, headphone and two USB connectors and a single eSATA connector thereby giving you just about every high-speed connection you could ever want.
