Introduction

Tagan is perhaps not a name you are familiar with when it comes to high-end power supplies.  However if the rest of their line-up of power supplies works as well as the SP-1000E GuardianX 1000 watt power supply we are reviewing does you will soon be not only hearing about them, but reading a great deal more about them in your favorite forums and magazines.

The majority of the power supplies we have reviewed in the past have had a total of two 12-volt rails to chose from. Some of the newer power supplies we have reviewed in the last 6-months have even gone so far as to have a total of four 12-volt rails, giving you far more leniency as to how you hooked up your 12-volt components.  The Tagan SP-1000E goes even further by offering a total of six - 12-volt rails. Rails 1, 2, 5 and 6 are 18 amps each, while rail 3 and 4 are 28 amps each.  So now that we have given you a run down on the beast why don't we check out the specifications and features.
